Why And How Do You Meditate?

By Trevor Johnson

More and more people are looking for a way to relieve stress. This is no surprise seeing that the price of everything is going up and jobs are getting harder to keep and find. Relaxation has changed over the years. In the early days you would get a book and sit in bed reading for about an hour, maybe two. This alone used to be enough to get the daily stress off your mind. It was like drifting to another universe. This does not help any more, which is why so many people are asking "how do you meditate?"

These days, when you get into bed, all you want to do is fall asleep. Many people lack the energy to sit in bed reading a book. This is because we are worked so hard in our waking lives.

So, a lot of people are turning to meditation to replenish what they have lost over the course of the day. There are many reasons you would want to meditate, relaxation is only one of them.

Many people say that they feel ready to fight a new day after they have had a good session of meditation. This is the reason you should do it in the morning, because it readies you for a long day.

Many people say that they feel meditation is too intimidating for them. This is only because they do not understand it, and because they feel silly doing it. These people also do not know how to do it properly, but it is very easy to do.

Firstly, find a quiet room. Make sure that you will not be disturbed. When meditating, always sit with your back straight and your knees crosses in front of you. Relax every part of your body; make sure that you are not tense. Focus your mind and in no time you will find that you are meditating. - 31856
